Biography

Dr. Esther Oluwatoyin Famutimi is a distinguished nurse researcher, educator, healthcare leader, and editor specializing in Maternal and Child Health Nursing. She currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr. Famutimi began her nursing career at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, in 2007 as a Nursing Officer, rising through the ranks to Deputy Director of Nursing in 2023. Her extensive experience spans healthcare management, clinical supervision, nursing capacity development, and policy formulation. .She holds a Bachelor of Nursing Science (2006), Master’s in Maternal and Child Health Nursing (2014), and PhD in Maternal and Child Health Nursing (2023) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Demonstrating her strong commitment to healthcare leadership, management, and policy development, she became a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (2023) and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria (2025). Dr. Famutimi is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Nurses and Midwives and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She serves on the Education and Research Committee of the West African Postgraduate College of Nurses and Midwives (WAPCNM).Her research focuses on critical Maternal and Child Health topics, including obstetric emergency management, reproductive health promotion, maternal and child health outcomes, neonatal care and survival, digital health interventions, AI and machine learning applications, mental health support for vulnerable groups, and advocacy and policy development in MCH. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and actively participates in international research collaborations, including the Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies (NEST360) project.As an editor, Dr. Famutimi brings academic rigor, clinical insight, and research expertise to scholarly publishing. She is committed to editorial excellence, evidence-based practice, and mentoring the next generation of nursing scholars and healthcare leaders.
